Today my beautiful country celebrated her 47th year of Independence from Britain. It may not seem like a big deal to most people but where my parent's came from is a big deal to me. The culture and values that they brought with them to Canada have influenced my life greatly and it really makes my heart dance to see other people embracing Trinidad's lifestyle, food, culture, music etc.
It's a beautiful country with gorgeous people and amazing food.
I went searching online to find some sort of original document to post and ending up find the Report of the Trinidad and Tobago Independence Conference, 1962. This means a lot to my parents and a lot to me as well. Where i came from is who i am and i am so proud to be Trinidadian.
